Steampunk Necklace... My take on it.

Steampunk Necklace. My take on it anyway. :) Approx 22"
I love wondering what dreams mean... and K M D are my initials.
All of the gears and such move.

Birdcage necklace with fly away bird

I created this necklace today. For me, it symbolizes many things. What could it symbolize to you?

Dream House Card

11-2011 Dream House Card.

The other day I woke up from a dream I had -- I was standing in our new home - in the living room, and I was creating a card... (not sure why I wasn't in my office but whatever.) I was standing on the hardwood floor looking out a floor to ceiling window and the view was just like this. I added the "faith" as I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

The window has a piece of acetate behind it, so it looks like a real window.

Quite a few cards I've made...

This is the group of cards I made for my friend, Tracy. She's a breast cancer survivor and she's my age. We've known each other since the 5th grade (10 years old) and still remain good friends today. As my donation to her walk, I make 20 cards and envelopes for her to send out.

This is a pin that I made for her using recycled window blinds.

Boo to You card - Published in October's VSN online gallery.

A card for Lisa who actually flipped her truck... but I didn't want the truck upside down. I did crunch the front of the truck thru my crimper though. ;)

For Andrea C in celebration of her Birthday...

Anniversary card to my husband of 7 years....

This past Saturday's stamp get together...

Saturday was our every other month get together at our LSS and it's a nice bunch of ladies. We begin around 11am and have someone show a demo a demo, then we have lunch, then another demo and we wrap it up by 3pm.

This hummingbird image was colored with Prisma pencils and Gamsol. Then covered with sticky paper and finally, put micro beads on it for a stained glass look. Normally I don't use these types of stamps because of all of the coloring but LOVED it and will be keeping an eye out for images like this! I will put it on a card but wanted to share.

Close up:

And this was a little demo I showed at the get together... Watercolor paper, spritzes and fun with a bird template. The wing is on with thin or thick pop dots. You can make a face on them or not.... Use as an ornament or tag or on a cardfront.

Milk smile

I took the lid off of the gallon of milk and this is what greeted me. Awww. Everyone could use a smile right?

T2T project...

I absolutely love Trash 2 Treasure projects... here are two.

First up: I got this coffee mug for 20cents... put some Plaster of Paris in it, coiled some wire to hold photos, and added some moss (from the tree in my backyard). I did boil the moss in water on the stove for about 5 minutes to kill any bugs that may be in it. I let it air dry for an hour and then just stuffed it into the mug. For my Mom, as her kitchen is done in Strawberries.

And finally made some Record Bowls. 33rpm records, heated and moulded into a bowl shape. NOT for food items but great for keys and such... The one with the RCA label is going to my brother who is a huge music buff and enjoys vinyl.

Text was to take center stage... was fun to create. On the back cover of VSN.

Published again...

I have gotten emails saying I have another card published but was out of town so haven't gotten the magazine yet. I hope to see it tomorrow.

Life's been crazy fun busy. I've been creating but haven't shared any as they have been submitted. :)

I hope your June is wonderful and hope to post some creations soon.

Bird on a post at sunrise

A manly card for my husband's boss -- and made a second one just like it for his boss' boss. I struggled to make something manly enough but this was a keeper.... also catches a bit of what Florida is all about.

Rubons are your friend...

When I first saw the word "Rubon" I was saying it like Rue-bons.... Then a lightbulb came on and it's Rub-ons -- as in rub them on your paper. LOL

I had bought some sheets of Rubons many moons ago but hadn't used them -- until now... made this super fast and easy card for my hubby's best friend's birthday. Simple, manly, and just love the bird cage image. The sayin on the front has said "A little birdie to ME"... but I just used a marker, inked up the all of the words but the "me" part and stamped. Then I used a small alpha set to make the word "us".

happy birthday

This one made it to Andrea so I can post.... The finished card is 6 1/2" x 5". The butterfly's wings are bent up and the ladybug is on with a pop dot so it 3-D'd.

Birthday Boy Turning One

We will celebrate Andy's first birthday soon and this one will be going to him...
The ear is 3-D and the card front is layered with foam tape and lined up perfectly with the wallpaper scraps in blue checks...

A hello to a friend's mom and dad...

I've known this friend's mom and dad since 1987... They don't get on the computer anymore so snail mail or visits in person are the ways to say hi to them. This one is going in the mail tomorrow...

And the inside stamped:

Pressed faux flowers

Learned this technique a few weeks back. Super easy, super fast. Added some thread since I have my sewing stuff out. :) A birthday card done.

Bubbles and Flowers

This one is going to a friend who is recovering from surgery... Stickles on the bubbles. Could also do Crystal Laquer for a wet look. :)

This is napkin card -- a technique I taught at my LSS quite a bit. Love doing this. For a friend's birthday.

Beth stamping her shirt

Bought Bethany a plain shirt and she went to town stamping on it. She had fun doing this project.

Nude man

Nude man walking the beach.... Love how it turned out.

An old Christmas ornament new again

I bought this Christmas ornament for a quarter knowing I could alter it... I love to find something and know I can make it my very own.

It's heavy and so pretty... and opens up to reveal a nice saying.

With Sculpy clay, I made an oval that would go over the orginal. Wrote what I wanted and edged the sides with a gold marker.

This will go on the 7' tree we up at our cabin in the mountains. Perfect. :) I love the cardinal and the stained glass here at the top.

Fly away butterfly, fly away...

We received a beautiful gift basket of tasty goodies from our neighbors, as I would go and take pictures of their place as it was being renovated -- along with the change of seasons. I was surprised they would give us such a great basket so I made this card as a thank you to them for it.

Just got the butterfly dies (from QuicKutz) and the new embossing folder called Flowers from the same company.

I hope they like it.
